Nerd Fit

You don’t have to look like Mr. Universe to enjoy a fitness program. You don’t even have to be very buff. Slender indoors guys like to work out too. They want the latest info on vitamins, nutrition, and exercise like everyone else seeking good health. They know they need it. The problem is there is so much out there it is a maze of material to wade through. You can’t trust just any source, now, can you? You have to separate the wheat from the chaff, the peanut from the shell, and the tool from the shed.

I think that the decision to undergo a fitness regime is going to take some effort. I don’t do anything without forethought as you may have noticed. I like to know the ins and outs of what I undertake. So as far as fitness and exercise go, I have decided to narrow it down to 25 sites that purport to have the best solution to a slacker’s problem of inactivity, with my favorite being a site called Fitness Select. If you aren’t used to a lot of strenuous sit ups and pushups, how do you start? If you never heard of an elliptical, what do you do? Do you jump right in and strain your muscles so that you can’t move, or do you start slow. Is there a specific order to do things or is it random and at will?

I want to know the efficacy of the vitamins that are recommended for my age group and what is contained in each and every bottle. Is there nutritional value, calories, or additives? Anything that could cause allergies or something more serious? Are workouts timed? Do they involve circuit training? Are they done in a gym or at home? I want to know the extent of the ropes.

Yes, I do have a lot of questions but I want scientific answers. I want to analyze, quantify, and qualify what I do. I want to see it from the inside with my brain. Otherwise it may be a stab in the dark or a pointless excursion—an exercise in futility as they say. I want results and that comes with scrutiny. Maybe I need a consultant or a trainer. Maybe I need a guidebook with illustrations. Maybe I need to chill out.

I am still going to do this, don’t get me wrong. I will not let myself get paralyzed with my good intentions. I will act upon decisions made with reason and logic. My fitness will be the product of the very best set of exercises and come from the most effective diet. I want to know exactly what my calorie intake will be daily, how many I will burn, and what percent of each and every food group.

I hope to report to you soon the results of my efforts. With all this investigation, I expect to arrive at the ideal workout program for optimal fitness for a rather sedentary guy. I am no athlete, but I may utilize some tips and techniques that are universally employed. Wish me luck.

Watching Cartoons on the Go

Aren’t we all a bit selfish! We want to control everything we do all the time. Instant gratification is the modern motto for youth. That means our entertainment most of all. We don’t want to go without even if we are out and about and not sitting comfortably on the sofa or in a big cushioned chair watching cartoons on the laptop.

So what if we don’t have access to a big screen. We have smartphones and mobile phone plans that work for our very personal needs. We have high speed Internet access and if that means watching a cartoon or two, well so be it. These phones are not just for daily mundane communication such as talking and texting friends. Yeah they do that, but oh so much more. I rely on my phone as my main access tool to data and information on the web. I am constantly looking stuff up and keeping touch with the fabulous world of anime. Nothing new escapes my attention. Thus, if I have a craving to watch, I can do it in a flash whether I am riding on a bus, in a restaurant, hiking up a hill, or shopping. Multitasking is the order of the day for my generation. Thanks and kudos go the magnificent manufacturers of digital devices.

YouTube has transformed my world. Can’t get enough of the stuff. So much to see, so much to savor. Cartoons here, too. I had to up my monthly mobile phone plan to get enough data allowance to do this. Had to get some cool apps while I was at it. Unlimited talk, text, and data is what they tell you! Believe it! It’s about saving money for me but most of all about the best features and benefits for my particular smartphone. I put out some good money on it and don’t want anything cramping my style.

If you are not privy to anime, you found me no doubt by mistake, but hold on. I can’t say enough to convince you to join my ranks. You will have a lifetime of enjoyment and magical imagery. If your cell phone is the right one, you can do as I do and view surreptitiously. Then when the time is right, graduate to a bigger platform.

I did some research by the way to arrive at the best monthly mobile plan. I was in the mood for an upgraded phone so it was all a package: one shot value deal and I was done. There are many considerations about minutes, operating systems, 4G LTE requirements, available apps, portability, and the like.

I can’t go into it here but let’s just say it takes some effort on your part or you can rely on a prejudiced salesman. You don’t have to worry about stringent contracts any more or exorbitant bills if you don’t mind prepaid SIM cards. Getting knowledgeable will help you make a good no brainer decision. At least you don’t have to read the fine print about senior benefits.
